The difference we want to make
Our goal is to protect the remaining ecologically significant wilderness areas of Washington, Idaho, Montana, Alaska and western Canada.

Wilderness

What We're Doing

The Campion Foundation focuses on where we can leverage resources to have the largest possible impact on the last remaining large-scale ecosystems in northwestern North America. There, millions of acres of wilderness provide critical habitat for mammals, songbirds and unique plant species.

The foundation focuses its wilderness program grant-making on the continent’s northwestern regions, specifically Washington, Idaho, Montana, Alaska, British Columbia, the Yukon and the Northwest Territories.

We support efforts that will lead to permanent protection for ecologically important public lands facing an imminent threat of development, targeting programs and initiatives that leverage our resources to the maximum extent. We support organizations and campaigns that provide leadership in these efforts, and, where necessary, we invest in capacity building to ensure that wilderness protection goals will be achieved.
