The Campion Foundation seeks to leverage maximum impact from every dollar granted by investing in highly functioning efficient organizations. We believe that an organization with a strong vision, effective governance and leadership, a robust fundraising program, and sound internal systems is better positioned to achieve program goals. Moreover, we believe that organizations build their adaptive capacity — the resilience and flexibility to adapt during times of stress as well as to be able to respond to new opportunities — when the critical building blocks of organizational health are in place and functioning smoothly.
However, our grantees don't operate in isolation; they operate within a growing nonprofit sector. We believe that an intrinsic culture of capacity building is needed throughout the nonprofit sector (grantmakers and grantseekers). We believe that the sector should be making significant increased investments in capacity and infrastructure in order to increase impact, be able to respond to the opportunities ahead, and fulfill the potential of the sector.
