We’re committed to the long-term viability of the nonprofit community and its partnership with the public sector. We also plan to focus on strengthening the capacity of nonprofits working in our program areas.

Strengthening Nonprofits

The nonprofit sector has grown into a powerful force for social change, and the increasing number of philanthropic organizations and individual funders point to a bright and sustainable future. However, environmental and social issues continue to outpace the capacity of the nonprofit sector, driving the need for greater resources and increased effectiveness.

Building the professional capacity of nonprofits goes to the core of our mission. A nonprofit community marked by strong leadership, ethical fundraisers, fiscal strength and a compelling mission attracts new donors, enhances reputations and builds credibility among its constituent groups, including key decision-makers.

As the ability of philanthropies to support the nonprofit sector grows, it’s important not to lose sight of the need for nonprofits to partner with the public sector. Nonprofit innovation can only be leveraged with the scale and widespread impact that government can provide.
